DuraSafe by SofSurfaces, is the industry leader in playground safety surfacing. This 24" square interlocking tile comes in multiple thicknesses, with fall height ratings of up to 12 feet.

DuraSafe uses a proprietary three-stage compression molding process unlike any other system in the world. Other manufacturing processes utilize a single- stage, “top to bottom” compression method. DuraSafe employs a unique system that compresses each tile from three different directions ensuring maximum quality and extreme durability, backed up by a ten-year limited warranty.

This unique compression process allows the top wearing course of the system to be compression molded to a significantly higher density when compared to competing products. DuraSafe's engineered hollow-core impact pedestal relies on a series of interdependent shock absorbers to create the necessary fall protection, ensuring that the top surface can be made extremely durable without compromising the systems resilient properties and exceptional safety characteristics.

For more than 20 years the unique KrosLock edge locking system has been the corner stone of DuraSafe and all the other rubber tiles and pavers produced by this manufacturer. Over the past two decades, continual advancements have been applied to the interlocking KrosLock design technology. When properly installed, the system will remain tight, secure and vandal-resistant through years of heavy use.

Proper installation is a very important component when it comes to obtaining and maintaining the the industry-leading performance record that DuraSafe offers. Environmental factors such as temperature cycles, wind, rain or snow are constantly attacking playground safety surfacing. During a typical temperature cycle, all rubber playground tiles can be expected to expand and contract as much as 2%.

In response to this environmental abuse a sophisticated installation procedure has been developed to keep DuraSafe playground tiles from shifting or separating. This procedure includes tile compression and the application of adhesive to the interlocking edge tabs as well as tile to base in strategic locations.

These products are made from recycled tire rubber, combined with specially formulated binding agents which are molded into a high-density, resilient interlocking tiles. DuraSafe's built in, hollow pedestal design provides the cushioning and impact absorption that sets DuraSafe apart from other rubber playground tiles. When installed outdoors, these pedestals also provide superior, multi-directional drainage channels.

DuraSafe is available in a variety of pigmented and premium colors. The pigmented rubber buffings that are offered in SofTile's Plus series of colors create an attractive solid colored surface which is highly slip resistant, wet or dry. A selection of eleven premium colored granules can be mixed in virtually any combination resulting in an almost unlimited number of granular color mixture options. SofTile offers the largest selection of color options in the industry.

In 2020 a revolutionary new "Skinned" color process became available. Unlike the premium granular version, colored virgin rubber sheets are bonded to the recycled rubber tile body. This manufacturing method promises better color consistency and durability compared to the granular process. Both the granular and skinned premium versions will be available for the foreseeable future.
